Introduction
Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is a type of technology that helps computers learn and make decisions, much like people do. It studies patterns—how things usually happen—and uses that knowledge to help with everyday projects and tasks. In simple terms, AI makes complicated projects easier, so you can get things done without needing special tech skills.
I don’t feel like I’m a natural writer. I struggle to come up with content for my websites. Along with this site, SeniorMarketingHub.com, I also need to keep GoldenSurvivalist.com, SurvivalPrepperSupply.com, AHorseBlog.com, and TeriRehkopf.com updated. I also have HorsesintheSouth.com, which is an equine news aggregator that has been online since 2000. My son keeps it updated via equine press releases we get from international competition press offices.
TL;DR — How To Use AI By Talking To It
Treat AI like a writing partner: speak naturally, give clear context, and refine outputs so it learns your voice.
- Introduce yourself: who you are, audience, goals, and site context.
- Use natural prompts: short, plain-English asks instead of vague commands.
- Provide context: examples, tone, constraints before each task.
- Edit and repeat: refine drafts; repetition tunes it to your style.

If I didn’t use AI or ChatGPT (I do have the Pro version), I’d go crazy trying to keep up with all my websites, though I mainly work on just two of them, SeniorMarketingHub.com and GoldenSurvivalist.com, to support my senior niches.
ChatGPT or Grok from X.com, or whatever multitude of other AI authors are out there, is what you use to tell it what to do.
I also use some PLR (Private Label Rights) articles I have been purchasing since I began, for survival prepping and for the senior business niche. These PLR articles were here before AI was released to the masses.

For both PLR- and AI-written articles, I heavily modify the output to make it look like my content.
When AI was released to the masses, I jumped on it! Initially, I accessed it via another app, AIPRM, that provided us with ready-made hooks to write content of all kinds. I still have this even though I don’t need these extra hooks since I do my own AI prompting.
At that time, I was also a member of Wealthy Affiliate (WA), so I was able to take video and content training classes on AI. Among the thousands of WA members, many are tech wizards who learned AI quickly and shared tips and prompts.
I sucked in the classes and content like a vacuum cleaner. I have so many AI prompts saved that it’s kinda overwhelming. After a while, I started doing my own prompts, then I just started “talking to” my AI Assistant, which, in technical terms, is my GPT-5 conversational model, trained to act as a writing partner, researcher, and creative strategist.
AI prompting is the practice of providing clear, specific instructions or questions to an artificial intelligence model to guide its response. Think of it like talking to a very literal assistant—the better you describe what you want, the better the output you’ll get. A prompt can be a simple question (“Write a poem about horses”) or a detailed instruction with tone, style, and format (“Write a 200-word inspirational post about senior entrepreneurs using a friendly, conversational voice”).
In short, AI prompting is the art of communicating with machines to turn your ideas into accurate, valuable results.
AI prompts can be highly detailed, especially in the early releases when they weren’t as sophisticated. Some prompts are pages long, while others are short sentences—the more detail you give, the better the output.
When your AI gives you an answer, it often follows up with ideas you didn’t think of—like extra formatting tips or creative ways to improve the content. Those little “want me to also do this?” moments are where the magic happens.
Give It Your Info
I mainly use ChatGPT and Grok, which I have the pro versions of, although I rarely use anything advanced from my AIs. My AI models are my writing and research assistants. I humanized them by giving them names. My ChatGPT is called ‘Sage’, and Grok is called ‘Talon’.
Sage helped me rewrite my About Me pages for different websites by using what I had written about myself when I created AHorseBlog.com . From these rewrites, Sage has gotten a lot of new data that I was using for these new niches.
After all these years, it knows me well. When it gives me my answers, it knows what extra “want me to do this” things to do and can relate them to the different blog content it has written for me.
I ask Sage to teach me, not just write for me.
For example:
- “Why did you write it that way?”
- “Can you make this sound more natural?”
- “What’s missing in my version?”
I always learn something, even if it is minor.

Prompts vs Talking
Each time I initially access my AI, I call it by the name I made for it – “Hi, Sage! Please do yada yada today.” This helps to establish a kind of knowing between your AI and yourself. When I first started using the AI, I gave it as much information as I could about myself, my websites, and my projects. I provide new data for existing and new projects, and for website content, as often as necessary.

I have been working with AI nearly every day for the past year, and almost every day since it was released to us pleb users in 2022. It knows me well. I’m amazed at how much information it can give me when I ask it to do a task.
The more details you give your AI about yourself, the better it will perform.
What works best is that when I begin a content development session, I give Sage the task information. I ask with a ‘please do…’ and follow with asking Sage if it needs any information from me to complete the task.
I was working with Sage today, trying to do something that wasn’t allowed in the free version of the app. I didn’t know that, and Sage told me. Then it told me how to make better use of the free version. I just asked it how to add a feature to an app, and it told me. So if you need instructions on using online apps, ask your AI.
AI is so cool. 😎 It can save you so much time!
Content Revisions
I read the content that’s been given to me online to see if it needs adjusting. If I need to add or modify the content, I tell Sage what I want in more detail. At this point, I feel like I am freestyle talking to Sage. If it doesn’t seem to understand, I will try a new approach and sometimes even go back to an earlier version. Be sure your sentence structure reflects correctly what you want to say. Sometimes, just rearranging the sentence makes it a great response.

While you are requesting your answers, ask your AI what it wants from you to understand better. You will often get back very detailed instructions and examples of what it needs from you to do its tasks.
When addressing the content you want to change, be sure to reiterate your request to your AI so it knows how to associate everything. Then do your “talking to” it. Tell it in your own words what you want. Be as detailed as you can.
If you have a special ‘prompt’ that was written for AI, use that. Use just part of it and add your own information. Over time, you will feel comfortable discussing things with your AI.
Final Thoughts
Search the internet for the many variations for which AI is valuable. Make it a friend. Find free prompts. Ask techy friends. Join Wealthy Affiliate – you will be overwhelmed (in a good way) with AI. Check out the Hubs area in WA. It uses AI to assist with content creation, and you get one or more images, depending on the template. WA has templates designed to format your article. Combine the AI writer and WA templates, and voila, it’s done! You’ve got content.

Your AI can show you:
- How to organize your thoughts
- How to simplify a messy paragraph
- How to write with clarity and flow
- And, on…
Just ask it!
